Charities are cash intensive, have considerable funds, often with a global presence, minimal oversight or regulation. To minimise risks, charities should have full budgets and account for all expenses, conduct independent audits and perform field audits to ensure funds are being used for legitimate purposes. Standard bank accounts should be used to ensure the normal banking system controls are in place.
